Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an approach to health education developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. Research over the past 30 years has consistently demonstrated that MBSR, in the format of an 8-week health education course, can help reduce a wide range of stress-related symptoms, including those of chronic illness, pain, and anxiety. It is a self-care accompaniment to other therapies.
Devote some time in the new year to exploring the ways and means to build stress resilience and bring greater ease and wellbeing into your life. Inner resources of mind, breath and body - resources you already have - are at your disposal and waiting to be tapped.
